ABOUT

We are a non-profit community dance group based in Bodmin, Cornwall. Run by volunteers we run dance classes for children aged from 3 upwards, for young people of all abilities. At Future Youth Dance we believe in our wonderful young dancers and strive to provide them with opportunities to learn and experience different styles of dance and perform and share the skills that they have learnt. We support and encourage our dancers to have fun while they dance and to build their confidence and build friendships too.

We have three competition teams in addition to the weekly dance classes, GDA, ViViD and Futuristix who have attended Street Dance competitions around the UK. GDA are a group of teenagers who have been chosen for their dance talent and commitment, to compete and represent Future Youth Dance at competitions around the country. GDA attended the UK Street Dance Challenge in May 2018 and March 2019 and placed 1st in their category on both occassions. ViViD is formed of primary age and secondary children, they have competed in 11 competitions to date and placed 2nd at the BDO Southwest Street Dance Championship in Chippenham. Futuristix are our youngest competition team made up of primary school aged children, the youngest member is only 7 years old. Futuristix have only competed in 1 competition so far but are working hard on their routine ready for their next competition.

We are fully insured and all of our volunteers are DBS checked.

We offer our dancers workshops throughout the year with industry professionals to enhance their skills and understanding of different dance styles. These workshops are often open to all, not just our own dancers.

We love to perform and as well as putting on our own shows to showcase our dancers talent we also perform at local events and as guests at other dance schools shows too.

We believe that we offer our young dancers a fun, supportive learning environment where they can come and build their confidence and learn new skills.
